FIELD: solid fuels. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to briquets usable as fuel in household and industrial hearths, in barbecues, as sorbent and reducing agent in chemical, food, and metallurgical industries. To increase mechanical strength and heat value of briquet, it contains thermally treated mixture of crushed waste of stone fruits, 40-75%, coal or coke fine, 15-40%, and hydrocarbon- containing binder (sulfonic acid derivative, molassa, starch, tallow pitch, or their mixture), the balance. Briquets are fabricated by mixing above-indicated ingredients in specified proportions, briquetting the mixture, and heat treatment of briquets at temperature as high as 170 C in air and at 250 to 400 C in non-oxidative medium.
