FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: device is made in the form of cylindrical housing 5 with fitted on sprocket 6 of chain drive installed on nose of camshaft 1. Housing accommodates piston 7 connected with camshaft and housing through helical spline connections 8 and 9. Housing is closed by cover 10 whose shank 12 is fixed in camshaft. Spool 15 moves in axial hole of shank connected with engine oil gallery by holes, 23, 22, 21, 3, 2 and 4. Radial holes 19 to feed oil into chamber 13 and oil drain holes 20 are made in shank. Holes are overlapped in turn by spool 15 moved under action of electromagnet 25 set into operation by electronic unit depending on operating conditions of engine. This provides displacement of piston 7 and turning of camshaft 1 relative to sprocket 6 accompanied by change in valve timing phase. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 dwg
