FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding; coating of electrodes to be used welding low-carbon steel. SUBSTANCE: electrode coating contains ferromanganese, common mica, potassium carbonate, ilmenite concentrate, dolomite, volcanic ash, clay shale and boric acid at the following ratio of components, mass %: dolomite - 10-15; ferromanganese 14-17: common mica 8-12; volcanic ash 10-14, potassium carbonate 1-2; clay shale 6-10; boric acid 0.5-1.0; and ilmenite concentrate - the rest. EFFECT: increased strength of coating, improved plasticity of coating compound and separation of slug scale. 3 tbl
