FIELD: powder metallurgy, method is used in production of powder nitrogen bearing steels. SUBSTANCE: aim is to increase concentration of nitrogen in metal, to decrease dimensions of nitrides, to increase volumetric share of dispersion nitrides and to have their uniform distribution in volume, that allows to improve steels and alloys processing and service properties. Method provides for production of iron based alloys additionally alloyed by nitrides forming components, powder spraying and nitriding in medium of molar nitrogen under high pressure and temperature. Alloying by nitrides forming components is carried out using amounts ensuring production of solid solutions after solidification and nitriding is carried out under pressure of non less than 20 MPa. Titanium, aluminum, vanadium, niobium, silicon, chromium are used as nitrides forming components. Nitriding is carried out under temperature of 500 - 1500 C.
