FIELD: water purification. SUBSTANCE: in a method of cleaning water by way of sorption and oxidation of organics with immobilized microorganisms in suspended layer of charge material (coal, clinoptilolite, crushed claydite, etc.) with simultaneous biological regeneration of charge and subsequent filtration of cleaned water through dense layer of charge material, cleaning of water is carried out with loading the charge of suspended layer with daily quantity of organics which corresponds to 1.5-3 mg/g according to chemical oxygen minimum procedure and 0.5-1.5 mg/g according to biochemical oxygen demand procedure, concentration of dissolved oxygen on outlet from suspended layer being 1-2 mg/l.
