PREPARATION FOR TREATMENT OF ACUTE GASTROENTERIC DISEASES IN NEWBORN CALVES AND A METHOD OF ITS USING Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: preparation containing sodium chloride, potassium chloride and glucose has additionally calcium acetate or lactate, ascorbic or acetylsalicylic acid, sodium hydrocarbonate and furacillin at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: sodium chloride 38-42; potassium chloride 14-16; calcium acetate or lactate 9-11; acetylsalicylic acid 3.5-4.5; ascorbic acid 4-6; glucose 190-210; sodium hydrocarbonate 24-26, and furacillin 0.9-1.1. At treatment method using furazol the additional rehydration preparation - glucofuracide is used that consists of the following components, wt.-%: sodium chloride 38-42; potassium chloride 14-16; calcium acetate or lactate 9-11; acetylsalicylic acid 3.5-4.5; ascorbic acid 4-6; glucose 190-210; furacillin 0.9-1.0; sodium hydrocarbonate 24-26. Preparation is administrated orally as 10% solution at dose 0.3-0.4 l, 2-3 times per a day up to recovery. Therapeutic effectiveness of method is 89.5-100.0%. Preparation is used mainly at toxic diarrhea, colibacteriosis and gastroenteritis. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of preparation and treatment.
