FIELD: forestry; barking methods and facilities. SUBSTANCE: for control of barking process performed in barking drum, installed close to drum are drum weight measuring units. Measuring signals received from saws are used in calculating degree of drum filling and resulted data are used in adjusting position of discharge opening cover so as to reach required degree of drum charging. In addition, monitored is degree of log barking and data resulted from it are utilized as basis for drum rotation speed control and also for control of charging hole cover position.
