FIELD: log barking.
SUBSTANCE: the method concerns the logs having approximately the same dimensions and produced from the same wood. The loss of the wood is taken to be low as much as possible, the parameters for control of the barking in the drum has a predefined order. The quantity of the bark remaining on the logs unloaded from the barking drum, and the quantity of the injured logs in the flow of the unloaded logs are measured. The quantity of the bark remaining on the logs is maintained at the required level and the quantity of the injured logs remains low as mush as possible. The degree of barking drum loading is reduced each time when an increase of the quantity of the injured logs is noted.
EFFECT: improved optimization of the results.
