FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: heat- insulation and noise-reduction boards applicable in building industry, chemical and mechanical engineering, and heat and power industry are shaped from mineral fibers in the following manner. Mineral raw material is supplemented with binder solution and resultant water-based mass is shaped into boards, which are finally dried. Shaping is effected by alternating pressure pulses transforming shaping system into oscillating circuit with perturbation action response frequency from 1/10 to 1/60 Hz, wherein duration of shaping pulse action does not exceed 1/3 oscillation period. EFFECT: increased heat-insulation quality due to improved strength and thermophysical characteristics when shaping in U-shaped apparatus.
