FIELD: artillery equipment, in particular, rocket engines of shells launched from the barrel of gun or mortar. SUBSTANCE: artillery shell rocket engine uses frame 1 with solid-propellant charge 2 and nozzle 3 closed in outlet section 4 with tapered cover 5 with igniter 6 and retarder 7; annular lug 10 is made on end face 8 of wall 9 of cover 5. End face 8 faces charge 2. Lug 10 carries membrane 11 with flanged edge 12; gap 13 filled with sealing compound 14 is formed between end face 8 and flanged edge 12. Outside diameter 15 of flanged edge 12 makes up 0.8 to 0.9 of diameter $$$ (16) of the throat section of engine nozzle 3. Distance L (17) between membrane 11 and charge 2 is determined by relation $$$. Diameter $$$ (18) of end face 19 of wall 9 of cover 5 facing igniter 6 exceeds or equals 1.5 $$$, where $$$ - diameter 20 of delivery outlet 21 of cover 5, 22 - cover fastening, 23 - partition of cover 5. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
