FIELD: gas purification. SUBSTANCE: removal of acidic component, in particular, hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from gas mix includes following stages. Gas mix contacts with the first absorbent in absorber 3 to produce cleaned gas and saturated first absorbent which is regenerated (20) to produce hydrogen sulfide-enriched gas. Worked out gas contacts in absorber 30 with auxiliary absorbent to yield cleaned gas and worked out auxiliary absorbent. The latter is regenerated (50) and loaded into auxiliary absorber, whereas simultaneously produced hydrogen sulfide-enriched gas is fed into sulfur reduction installation 55. Sulfur compounds other than hydrogen sulfide are reduced there into hydrogen sulfide to yield deoxidized off-gas, which, in absorber 65, is then brought in contact with regenerated first absorbent to yield desulfurized gas and partially saturated first absorbent, which is thereafter transferred into the first absorber.
