FIELD: welding. SUBSTANCE: hollow cable is designed for shielded-arc consumable electrode automatic and semiautomatic welders. It has outer sheathing, inner and outer steel wire spirals and current carrying conductor. Outer spiral is provided with plastic casing made, for instance, of thermosetting polyethylene tube. Gas is delivered along circular clearance between spirals. Use of circular channel between wire spirals, with provision of tightness owing to plastic casing of outer spiral, makes it possible to ensure stable delivery of shielding gas into welding zone at compact section and light weight of hollow cable.
