FIELD: mechanical engineering; carbon dioxide- shielded arc welding of structures, thickness up to 70 mm, using filler wire. SUBSTANCE: at narrow-groove arc-welding with consumable electrode root of weld is made with decreasing values of welding current and voltage by 20-30%, as compared with values of current and voltage used at welding subsequent layers. From one to three pieces of additional filler wires are placed in groove depending on width of groove. Cross-section area of one of wires should be 8-fold the size of cross-section of current-carrying wire. Filler wire is placed in groove before welding each following layer until groove is filled up. Welding is cone at cross oscillations of end of current-carrying wire. Included angle is 25-30 degrees. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
