FIELD: transport engineering; antitheft systems. SUBSTANCE: low power signals are constantly radiated by means of radio beacons covering the protected territory. Fact and time of attempt of unauthorized use of car is detected by means of first-stage protection of alarm-signalling type installed on car. Then alarm signalling is energized and protection of second stage, for instance, locking type, is set to holding mode. When stolen car gets into zone of action of radio beacon of guard station, second stage protection is shifted to active mode giving an alarm signal and locking some units of car to prevent its movement within visibility range from guard station. Antitheft system has first stage protection with unauthorized access sensors, sensor signal converter and alarm, for instance, siren. Second stage protection of locking type includes radio beacon installed in guard station, remote control signal transmitter, signal converter and car unit locking actuators.
