SUBSTANCE: disodium salt of cephtriaxone-7-{ [2-(aminothiazol- -4-yl)-2-syn-methoxyimino] acetamido} -3-{[2,5-dihydro-6- hydroxy-2-methyl-5-oxo-as-triazin-3-yl)thio] methyl} -3 -cephem-4-carboxylic acid hemiheptahydrate is prepared by treatment of aqueous suspension of 7-amino-3-{ [(2,5-dihydro- -6-hydroxy-2-methyl-5-oxo-as-triazin-3-yl)thio] methyl}-3- -cephem-4 carboxylic acid with sodium hydrocarbonate in 1:2 molar ratio, respectively followed by exchange reaction of 7-amino-3-{[(2,5-dihydro-6-hydroxy-2-methyl-5-oxo-as-triazin- -3-yl)thio]methyl}-3-cephem--4-carboxylix acid disodium salt with reactive 2-[2-aminothiazol-4-yl]-2-syn-methoxyiminoacetic acid derivative such as 2-bemzothiazolyl-thioester in aqueous solution and in the presence of suitable inert organic solvent such as acetone at temperatures ranging from 0 to 40 C, and desired compound is recovered in pure form.
