THERMAL DRIER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: processing agricultural materials. SUBSTANCE: drier has horizontal chutes 2 with perforated bottom, fan, suction air duct 9 and delivery air duct 10 which are connected with fan 8 and chutes 2, drying agent preheater 14 and bypass air duct for partial return of used drying agent to drier. Chutes 2 are mounted in single-row horizontal frame 1 provided with cells for tight mounting; spaces between chutes 2 are interconnected; besides that, they are connected with inlet branch pipe 5 of drier. Box 3 is tightly attached to frame 1 from below; hinged glass- covered cover 4 is tightly articulated above each chute 2 at the top. Outlet branch pipe 6 of drier connected to box 3 is used for discharge of drying agent; it is connected with suction branch pipe of fan 8. Drying agent preheater is made in form of two parallel horizontal disks 15 and 16; upper disk 16 is provided with central bent member; curvilinear members 17 made in form of Archimedean spirals diverging from central hole to periphery are tightly fitted between disks. In peripheral portions disks 15 and 16 are tightly connected by means of cylindrical ferrule 20 to which outlet branch pipe 18 of preheater is tightly secured; inlet branch pipe 19 of preheater is secured to central hole in upper disk. Branch pipe 19 is connected with delivery branch pipe of fan. Preheater 14 is mounted on furnace 20 for burning solid or gaseous fuel. EFFECT: enhanced operational and economical efficiency. 6 dwg
