METHOD FOR KEEPING FISH IN FISH RESERVOIR Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: keeping of fish in units with open or closed circulation system, for instance, in aquariums and fish keeping and transportation containers. SUBSTANCE: method involves adding particles of polyacrylamide with extreme swelling index of 50-200, which have been preliminarily held in water to obtain particles with dispersity of 1-10 mm. Particles are introduced in an amount of 10-20% of water volume in reservoir. Particles introduced into water have density exceeding that of water to allow particles of settled contaminants to be separated from bulk of water in reservoir. Settled contaminant particles may be oxidized by adding portions of liquid carbon pertetrafluoride with dispersity of 0.1-3 mm at distributing rate of 0.2-10% of water weight per hour into fish reservoir. Particles of polyacrylamide are periodically withdrawn from reservoir, washed and returned into reservoir. EFFECT: increased efficiency, wider operational capabilities and simplified method. 3 cl
