FIELD: mechanical engineering: welding. SUBSTANCE: automatic welder has bed frame, headstock with drive cylinder and support for workpiece, driven tailstock with pressing mechanism, assembling arrangement with device to move it to and away from place of assembling, and welding torches. All these members are mounted on bed frame. According to proposed invention, headstock and tailstock are provided with stops. Assembling arrangement has set of alignment prisms and is mounted on movable crossmember connected with move to-and-away device by means of torsion for engagement of alignment prisms on crossmember with stops on headstock and tailstock and centering of mounting prisms of assembling arrangement relative to axis of assembling of workpieces. Torsion is made in form of flexible plates. EFFECT: increased service life of welding set at high intensity of operation, increased efficiency. 3 cl, 2 dwg
