FIELD: mechanical engineering and light industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has drive, variable-structure mechanism for transportation and cutting off tape material lengths, direct measurer for measuring length of cut-off material and control system. Length setter is positioned at tape motion line and is made in the form of immovable scale and length indicator fixed on frame, which carries current collectors. Frame is mounted for displacement relative to preset cutting line by planetary gear. Direct measurement device is mounted behind cutting line in the direction of tape transportation and has fixed and rotating current collector. Distance between current collector contact line and cutting line may be preset. EFFECT: increased efficiency, wider operational capabilities and enhanced reliability in operation. 1 dwg
