FIELD: production of permanent magnets from alloys of rare-earth metals for electrochemical electronic, automobile, instrumentation, and other industries. SUBSTANCE: rare-earth metal and iron alloy is hydrogenated with hydrogen, embrittled composition is additionally ground to fragment size of 40-200 mcm, nitrated with fluidized ammonia, pressed while doping epoxy resin, and oriented in magnetic field of 15 kOe. EFFECT: improved characteristics of magnets due to reduced probability of source material disintegration under high temperatures and admixtures present in ammonia, or other causes, eliminated oxide formation phase due to enhancing nitration reaction; improved yield of products and eliminated requirement for additional nitration. 6 cl
