FIELD: mechanical engineering; may be used in grinding of thin-walled workpieces on rest. SUBSTANCE: workpiece 3 is installed on rest 1 in form of adapter made of material with high heat conduction and coated with soft material 4. Adapter consists of separate magnetic cores fastened by holder. Workpiece is registered by the surface opposite to worked one, but actual contact is effected by several microsections (points). Gap A formed by depressions of profiles of roughness of contacting surfaces is of value equalling the sum of heights of profile roughness on ten points of both surfaces. Then, applied to the surface to be ground is load normal in direction to this surface and uniformly distributed over it. Load is sufficient for deformation of roughness of surface profile of rest by roughness of surface profile of workpiece opposite to worked one. In this case, roughness profiles of both surfaces become identical. Further on, load is released and workpiece in assembly with rest is subjected to grinding. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 4 dwg
