FIELD: synthetic rubber production. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to 1,3-butadiene production via one-step vacuum dehydration of butane. The latter mixed with recycle (butane-butylene fraction) is dehydrated under vacuum at elevated temperature in adiabatic flow reactor loaded from above on stationary catalyst bed consisting of granulated alumino-chromium catalyst and inert heat carrier. Catalytic mixture is arranged in several layers (at least two) with progressively increased heat carrier to catalyst weight ratio in opposite to flow direction, weight ratio being calculated from formula presented in description of invention. EFFECT: increased (up to 6 wt %) yield of butadiene and stability in catalyst activity.
