FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at improving strength and performance characteristics of materials of titanium and its alloys applicable in medicine industry and aircraft engineering. Method includes heating in vacuum to at least 700 C, conditioning for 5-30 min, saturation with hydrogen at 400-650 C to 0.12-2% hydrogen concentration, cooling to a temperature below that of eutectoid conversion, and subsequent vacuum annealing at 400-650 C for 0.5-6 h. According to the second version, succession of operation is the following: vacuum heating, conditioning, saturation with hydrogen, cooling to ambient temperature, additional heating in vacuum to at least 700 C for 5-30 min, and subsequent vacuum annealing. EFFECT: improved strength and performance characteristics. 2 cl, 2 tbl
