METHOD FOR DIAGNOSTICS OF CANCER RELAPSES AND METASTASES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; oncology; early diagnostics of clinically developing symptom-free cancer relapses and metastases of various histologic structures and variously localized. SUBSTANCE: blood serum of cancer patients is subjected to analysis in order to determine total location dose activity of P-proteins. If such activity is detected, it is possible to judge on presence or absence of cancer relapse or metastases in patient. Blood serum with pathology thus-detected is incubated with tissues of various organs and, in case of disappearance of total location dose activity of P-proteins after incubation with one or several tissue samples, given organ tissue is identified as target for potential development or for actual presence of pathologic process. Proposed method makes it possible, well in advance of emergence of clinical symptoms, to identify body organ in which, in future, cancer metastasis or relapse is liable to develop regardless of histologic picture and localization of primary process.
