FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: engine-powered electric car has internal combustion diesel engine with clutch, propeller shaft, differential and driving wheel axle-shafts, electric generator, storage batteries, power converter, fuel and water pumps, tank with diesel fuel and computer to control above-indicated diesel engine. Rotary diesel engine has one combustion chamber communicating with at least one expansion chamber through valve and distributing chamber. Expansion chamber can be overlapped by shutter installed in rotor guides. Shutter is mechanically coupled with front wheels and with electric generator through clutches. Power rating of electric generator is less than engine power rating. This provides charging of storage batteries. Generator is connected to storage batteries and electric motors installed on rear wheels. Electric motors are furnished with regenerative braking device connected to power intensive storage batteries and to wheel electric motors through power converters.
