FIELD: sintering of ore concentrates in preparation of raw materials for melting, particular, chromite and iron ore concentrates. SUBSTANCE: laid on bottom bed is layer 100-250 mm high of raw pellets, and then, subjected successively to drying, heating and sintering with supply into layer of pellets of heat carrier with preset temperature for each zone and preset filtration rate based on preset temperature. In zone of heating, the rate of filtration of heat carrier is set proportional to its temperature in zones of sintering and heating, and is additionally corrected by the value of height of bottom bed using, for the purpose, of relation given in the invention description. When included in initial burden of pellets is solid fuel, temperature of heat carrier in zones of sintering and heating is reduced by 35-40 C for each 0.5 of carbon present in burden.
