RAIL DRILLING DEVICE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport; mechanization of operations of drilling holes in rail webs. SUBSTANCE: device has mounting bracket 1 with support shelf 2, posts 3, projections for arrangement between head with rail foot at one side and guide bushings 6, drill 8 secured in guide bushings and clamping mechanism. Bracket has bushing for accommodating the drill secured on support shelf 2. Projections of bracket are made in form of two pairs of relatively perpendicular plates arranged with clearance relative to bushing. Clamping mechanism is formed by C-shaped clamp 14, rods 11, L-shaped locks, screw 17 and unit 16. Clamp consists of two parallel vertical plates some ends of which and intercoupled at side of bracket by strip. Screw 17 is installed in nut 16 secured on this strip. Other ends of C-shaped clamp 14 are arranged on side of rail 10 opposite to bracket and are interconnected and connected with vertical portions of L-shaped locks by horizontal axle for pressing horizontal projections of locks to lower portion of head and to web of rail 10. Upper ends of vertical portions of locks are interconnected by horizontal axle and are connected with ends of tie-rods 11 placed between vertical plates of C-shaped clamp and in parallel with vertical plates. Other ends of tie-rods are interconnected by horizontal axle and are connected with posts 3 of bracket 1. EFFECT: facilitated maintenance and repair. 4 dwg
