WINDOW UNIT Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to window units installed in openings of buildings for regulated light admission into premise and for protection of windows against unauthorized ingression into premise of undesirable persons and also for protection of personnel inside premise from being hit by automatic small arms from outside. Window unit has frame with inner and outer glazing, turning strips located in inter-glazing space and fastened on frame through turning mechanism. Turning strips are arranged inside metal casing made of U-shape cross-section members with formation of one of several isolated sections. Number of sections depends on width and height of window. Inside each section, turning strips are pivotally interconnected by means of tie-rod which is linked with strip turning mechanism. This turning mechanism is located inside common metal frame of rectangular configuration which is installed inside window unit casing and is fastened through it to wall of building.
