HANDCUFFS-BLOCK Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: equipment limiting freedom of actions of man utilized by law-enforcement bodies. SUBSTANCE: handcuffs-block is put on thumbs and has body made of interjoined cheek-pieces, mobile gripper with ratchet teeth, rotary catch with locking arm, bearing spring and key. L-shaped cheek-pieces form hollow rectangular body that houses mobile gripper and spring returning it into initial open position. Two through matched holes of asymmetrical ellipsoidal form with characteristic dimensions of thumbs are made in planes of cheek-pieces of body and mobile gripper which cross-sections can be diminished simultaneously in lateral and longitudinal directions to grip thumbs during opposing movement of body and mobile gripper in process of closing. EFFECT: simplified design, increased adaptability to manufacture, functional reliability and widened operational capabilities. 4 dwg
