FIELD: underground construction industry. SUBSTANCE: method is intended for increasing stability of underground workings and enhancing bearing capacity of support in sections of tunnel-like workings cut and supported in heavily destructed rock mass (floating earth, tectonic disruption zones with crushed rock, karst holes, underground beds of former streams, etc.). According to method, in underground working continuously supported by rings of tubing or other segments at sections of crossing heavily disrupted rock mass at inner side of support rings along roof, foot and sides of working, installed are tubular members for example in the form of metal tubes of diameter substantially less than diameter of working and these tubes are rigidly connected with support rings. Inserted into tubular members are ropes and their ends are fastened in undisturbed rock mass beyond limits of working cross-section contour at angles to its lateral and longitudinal cross-sections. Ropes are prestressed by definite tension. This embodiment of working support in heavy geological conditions promotes formation of suspended system or span in disturbed zone which increases stability of this span, and tensioning of support rings by ropes gives them larger bearing capacity due to less compression of rings by rock pressing force. EFFECT: high efficiency. 4 cl, 2 dwg
