FIELD: medicine; endocrinology. SUBSTANCE: patient's blood is subjected to analysis to determine content of hormones, viz. hydrocortisone and Ts. Whenever their respective contents in blood is above 560 nmole/l and less than 1.9 nmole/l, endocrinologist arrives at conclusion that given patient is not eligible for fasting dietary treatment. EFFECT: method introduces clarity into delicate problem of selecting persons eligible for fasting dietary treatment.
