FIELD: chemistry of high molecular weight compounds, more particularly preparation of powdery acrylic copolymers. SUBSTANCE: claimed process comprises radical copolymerization of acrylamide and/or acrylic acid, and/or ammonium and alkali metal salts thereof in concentrated aqueous solutions in the presence of chemical initiators and antiadhesive additive such as sodium alkylbenzene sulfonate in amount of 0.005 to 0.08 wt%, and isolation of product by well known procedure.
