FIELD: flying vehicles in cosmic and aviation technology, ship building, machine building, and automobile manufacture. SUBSTANCE: acrylonitrile based copolymers are prepared by radical copolymerization of 90-95 wt.-% acrylonitrile with methacrylate and monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylic, methacrylic and itaconic acids. The claimed process is carried out in aqueous medium at aqueous modulus of 2-3:1, pH of 2-3 and temperature of 40-60 C under stirring conditions in the presence of 0.08-0.13 wt parts potassium persulfate as mixture initiator and 0.04-0.07 wt sodium metabisulfate and the precipitated copolymer is subsequently washed with water. Especially pure monomers are used. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process.
