FIELD: technique of measurement of ionized plasma parameters, applicable for monitoring of the process of surface impregnation of steels and alloys. SUBSTANCE: ionized atmosphere is excited by electromagnetic radiation within the preset frequency range with a subsequent estimation of the influence of this excitation on electromagnetic radiation of ionized atmosphere and/or cathode current flowing in it. The device for monitoring the process of surface impregnation of steels and alloys in a glow discharge uses a pulsed source of electromagnetic radiation optically linked with one or several measuring cathodes, each electrically coupled to the measuring device.
