FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: locking device has housing with radial openings, rod mounted inside the housing and provided with a ring groove, locking members received in the radial openings of the housing, spiral spring belt, bimetallic plate, and casing that encloses the housing and provided with a groove. In the middle portion of the housing is a T-shaped groove. The bimetallic spring is secured to the casing. In the groove of the housing is a carriage with four rollers. The running end of the belt is secured to the carriage with a screw. The rollers of the carriage can move over the T-shaped groove on the housing and groove on the inner side of the casing. The top portion of the carriage is made up as a cog, groove, and knurled surface. The outer side of the cog is at 30° to the horizontal plane. The inner side of the cog, which abuts against the bimetallic plate, is at 2-4° to the vertical plane. The stroke of the carriage is define by the length of the groove on the housing.
