FIELD: data transmission systems for raising validity of threshold decoding of convolution code encoded data accepted from fading channel. SUBSTANCE: in absence of fading, soft decision is taken and in tits presence, hard decision which is more valid; characteristics of reliability of decoder output characters are formed on the basis of analyses of state of communication channel, soft and hard decisions. EFFECT: improved validity of decoding, provision for informing user about degree of reliability of decoder output characters, and saving good properties of soft threshold decoding according to maximum of posterior probability. 2 cl, 6 dwg , 1 tbl
