FIELD: forestry, in particular, growing of seedlings with closed rootage and protection of forests from fire on forested lands. SUBSTANCE: container has pot 1 and flange 3 and is fabricated from special clay. Pot is manufactured from vacuumized pressed cob dried clay and flange is made from vacuumized pressed clay burnt at temperature of 700-750 C. Clay used for manufacture of pot becomes soft under the action of moisture and does not counteract growing of seedling rootage. Flange keeps for 5-6 years predetermined strength, suppresses weeds growing in zone adjacent to container, accumulates precipitations and moisture evaporated by soil and protects planting material from ground fire. Containers are laid in row to define firebreak. Upon expiration of 5-6 years, clay of flange is gradually decomposed into separate mineralized particles and does not prevent planting material and other plants from growing. EFFECT: increased efficiency by optimized conditions for growing of woody plants, improved water conservation, suppression of weeds in zones adjacent to container, protection of plants from ground fire, reduced labor intensity during forestation by reduced agrotechnical operations. 4 dwg
