METHOD FOR SURGICAL RECONSTRUCTION OF EXTERNAL AUDITORY MEATUS AFFECTED WITH CICATRICIAL STRICTURES AND OBLITERATIONS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; otorhinolaryngology; otosurgery. SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises following steps: cicatricial tissue is dissected through incision practised behind patient's ear; outer ring of bone portion of external auditory meatus is expanded; two skin flaps are tailored out of skin of transauricularregion; suturing wound formed behind ear (transauricular wound). Inventive novelty of proposed method resides in fact that method is carried out in two stages: in first stage two pre-formed skin flaps are displaced forwards and placed margin-to- margin with remaining skin covering bone portion of external auditory meatus and with one another, and in second stage, after 3-4 weeks, as skin autotransplant has become grafted onto patient's skin, autotransplant is separated by 2/3 and shaped to match defect. Proposed method provides conditions for controlling state of skin autotransplant in process of its being grafted on patient's skin. Method ensures complete covering of auditory meatus walls with skin autotransplant without disturbing meatus trophicity. EFFECT: stable elimination of cicatricial strictures and obstructions in external auditory meatus.
