FIELD: rare-earth elements. SUBSTANCE: method involves addition of solution containing 20-115 g/l sodium, potassium or calcium hypochlorite and 40-115 g/l sodium, potassium or calcium hydroxide to solution of rare-earth metal chlorides by portions or continuously. Reaction mass is stirred intensively. Temperature is maintained at the range 20-100 C, pH = 1.7-5.5. EFFECT: improved method of cerium isolation. 2 tbl
