FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: this method is proposed for longitudinal-pressure interference-fit assembly of shaft-and-bushing connections. An auxiliary shaft is introduced with a clearance into the bushing to whole its length. Then longitudinal ultrasonic waves are excited in this auxiliary shaft. The amplitude of the ultrasonic waves shall ensure compensation of the sum of the values of the interference in the connection, clearance of the auxiliary shaft fit in the bushing and the amplitude of ultrasonic oscillation of the shaft being pressed in. After that axial force is applied for withdrawing the auxiliary shaft out of the busing simultaneously with pressing in the shaft subject to connection. The pressing-in speed and the speed of withdrawal of the auxiliary shaft shall be the same. EFFECT: high tightness of shaft fit in bushing. 3 dwg
