FIELD: manufacture of car glasses, windows, doors, spectacles, electrical household appliances, bottles. SUBSTANCE: method includes application to base of solution of mixture of silica and partially polymerized organic silanol in organic solvent and curing of produced coating by heating. In this case, solution is preliminarily treated with cation-exchange resin to remove cations of alkali metals, and if required, with anion-exchange resin. The product consisting of base and coating layer 1-20 mcm thick has coating which includes, %: silica about 10-70; polymerized epoxy-functional silanol up to 20; the balance, polymerized silanol of basic formula RSi(OH)3, where R is methyl and up to 40% is radical from group including, vinyl, phenyl, 3-glycidoxypropyl and 3-metacryloxypropyl. Quantity of alkali metal cations in coating amounts to less than 2.3x10-6 mole/g. Polymer may be film from polyethylene tereohthalate, noncoated surface of polymer base may be joined with sheet of polyvinyl butyral. Sheet of polyvinyl butyral may be joined with sheet of glass, and noncoated surface of polymer base and sheet of glass are joined with adhesive. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 18 cl, 40 tbl
