FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: yeast of genus Candida or Saccharomyces cerevisiae is cultured under condition of intensive aeration and medium stirring at pH = 4.0-4.2. Value pH is regulated by titration of medium with an aqueous ammonium. Nutrient medium has n-paraffins or ethanol, or molasses as carbon sources, source of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sulfur-containing salts, magnesium, iron, zinc and manganese. Medium has additionally selenium-containing compounds in order to enrich biomass with selenium taken at amount 0.01-0.6 mM (as measured for selenium). Total content of sulfur-containing salts in medium is 0.2-3.0 mM (as measured for sulfur). The obtained biomass has the bound selenium. EFFECT: improved method of producing. 1 tbl
