FIELD: metallurgy, namely spontaneous outburst trapping, particularly from converters. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes shelter 1 of converter 2 with frontal port 3 for charging materials. Aspiration hood 7 in the form of П-shaped arch is mounted over said frontal port. Hood 7 has on its lateral end surfaces openings 6 joined with system for outburst suction to aspiration scrubber. In order to provide gas curtain, air ducts 9 are arranged along edges of П-shaped arch. Said air ducts have lengthwise slits 10 oriented one opposite to another. Apparatus also includes members for aerodynamic control of air curtain by means of flaps 11 mounted with possibility of rotation around slits 10. EFFECT: improved design. 4 cl, 5 dwg
