FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, and can be used for the fugitive dust and gas emissions from the converter capturing. In the method, performing the box-type exhaust hood installation above the converter, facing the converter neck by the inlet opening, enabling the said emissions capturing during the raw material loading into converter from the ladle and during the finished product or slag unloading from the converter into the ladle and the emissions discharging through the flue connected to the hood outlet opening. At that, the box-type hood with damper is used, which is performed with heat-releasing ribs on their outer surface, wherein the damper is mounted on the ladle supply side with possibility of moving along the exhaust hood front side to the upper position during the raw material loading into converter from the ladle and with possibility of its movement along the exhaust hood front side by extension downwards towards the converter neck during the finished product or slag unloading from the converter into the ladle, and performing the heat removal from the hood and the damper by means of the said ribs.
EFFECT: invention allows to develop a simple and reliable method and device for the fugitive emissions capturing during the converters loading and unloading, ensure effective emissions capturing under conditions of confined space, as well as increase in the device operation reliability.
