FIELD: electric instruments, in particular, testing insulation of wires, electric cords, flat dielectric elements, capacitor mica, capacitor films. SUBSTANCE: method involves calculation of calibration coefficient using known value of electret potential difference at corona electret from polytetrafluoroethylene. Tested and reference samples are located on rotating disk. High-voltage is applied to corona electrode. Oscilloscope screen displays two voltage pulses from reference sample and tested one. Known potential difference of reference sample and calibration coefficient are used for electret difference of potentials of mica plate. EFFECT: increased precision. 1 dwg
