FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method is used to measure the cross-linking degree of polyethylene (PE) of low (LDPE) and high density (HDPE). The difference is measured for amplitude of maxima ΔI spectra of thermostimulated depolarization currents (TSD) of coronoelectret LDPE and HDPE with the thickness of h>250 µm before and after stitching using a device, in which upon measuring the spectra of the thermostimulated depolarization currents, the polyethylene samples are placed between the grounded electrode measuring and the blocked electrode with blocking insulation in the form of a non-polar layer of silicon dioxide resulting from annealing at 700-1000°C of Muscovite mica plates with the thickness of 10 microns. Spectra measurement of the thermostimulated depolarization currents of sewn and unsewn polyethylene of low and high density is carried out at a linear heating rate β=10 deg/min, and degree of cross-linking of the polyethylene is determined using the following mathematical expression: Ccl=ΔI/Imax ncl, where Ccl - the coefficient of the cross-linking degree; ΔI - the current reduction at the maximum of the spectra of thermostimulated depolarization currents after cross-linking, A.
EFFECT: ability to improve the accuracy of determining the degree of cross-linking of insulating high density polyethylene and low-density polyethylene.
