FIELD: research analyses and various practical applications, including geoelectric exploration where it is used as heavy-power source of current pulses and magnetic field. SUBSTANCE: mouth part of generator ballistic unit barrel is made of nonconducting material and current-carrying parts of conducting system are made in the form of metal buses arranged along ballistic unit barrel. Metal buses are placed in slots on inner surface of barrel mouth which makes it possible to arrange current-carrying parts outside generator working space so that generator structural components are not subjected to damage in the course of operation. First and second members of conducting system have N metal buses, where N ≥ 2, interconnected by means of 2n-2 current-carrying jumpers ensuring series connection of mentioned buses. Piston is made of nonconducting material reinforced by metal bus lengths.
