FIELD: hydrogenation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: distinguishing feature of catalysts for selective hydrogenation of diene and acetylene hydrocarbons is presence of particles of iron group metals and their alloys with other metals joined with thread-like carbon and also absence of crystallographic faces of these particles exposed on catalyst surface, which faces are responsible for complete hydrogenation reactions. Preparation of such catalysts is distinguished with preparing thread-like carbon by way of coking iron group metals and their alloys at 550-700 C, size of metal and alloy particles being no larger than 500 A, whereas amount of thread-like carbon formed on 1 kg of metal or alloy is ranged from 5 to 400 g. EFFECT: increased selectivity of catalyst. 3 cl, 6 dwg, 4 tbl
