FIELD: heterogeneous catalysis. SUBSTANCE: invention is distinguished by applying as catalyst threadlike carbon containing particles of iron subgroup metals or their alloys with other metals. Such systems are prepared by coking iron subgroup metals or their alloys by means of hydrocarbons. Catalysts have been successfully utilized in reactions of CO oxidation, steam conversion of methane, unsaturated hydrocarbon hydrogenation (in particular, selective hydrogenation of dienes and acetylenes into olefins), butane dehydrogenation, CO methanation, and Fischer-Tropsch reaction. EFFECT: increased resistance to caking and coking with preserved high catalytic efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg , 11 tbl
