FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: nickel-containing catalyst is subjected for mechanochemical activation in planetary mill for 2 h and loaded in flow-type reactor, heated for 1 h in H2 flow to 500-620 C, H2 is changed for CH4, and decomposed. Carbonized catalyst is treated with butadiene-1,3 diluted with argon and/or hydrogen at mole ratio = (1-2):(20-40): (0-75) at 600-700 C. Hydrogen yield is 166.6-1880.2 l/g catalyst, carbon yield is 136-1360 g/g catalyst. Method is used for production of ink, dyes, pigments, synthetic materials, etc. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 1 tbl
